The protagonist of Rent-A-Girlfriend is Kazuya Kinoshita, who experienced heartbreak after being dumped by his partner of a quarter, Mami Nanami.

He uses an online dating service where she rents Chizuru Mizuhara, a lovely and kind lady.

She received a lower score on the application because he believed she was also good to be true. Chizuru berates him after learning this and reveals her real nature— a meaner school woman than he had anticipated.

In front of his family and friends, Kazuya continued to hire Chizuru as his wish partner due to an unexpected turn of events.

But, Chizuru learned that her buyer is her colleague and next-door cousin.

When more rented girls show interest in Kazuya, things become more complicated.

In the next time of the line, Chizuru leaves her job and pursues her acting career. In order to assist her financially, Kazuya commits to renting her every week and supports her in realizing her wish.
