Sepulveda Pertence was born on November 21, 1937, in Brazil’s Sabará, Minas Gerais. He graduated in law from the Gerais Federal University of Minas in 1960. He was active in the student movement and was the first vice-president of the National Union of Students (UNE) in 1959-1960.
In 1961, he relocated to Brasilia and began working as a legitimate assistant for the Federal District district. He began his mentor degree at the University of Brazil, where he also served as an assistant teacher and instructor before being let go in 1965.
In 1963, he passed the open examination for the placement of Federal District and Territories Public Ministry Prosecutor. From 1965 to 1967, he also served as Minister Evandro Lins e Silva’s( STF ) advisor. The Military Junta of 1969, based on AI – 5, fired him from the Public Ministry in October 1969.
